Life at Syscons Agnes

When did you join Syscons and what path did you come from?

The one at Syscons was my first real work experience. I came from a master's degree in Big Data Analytics, which followed my undergraduate education. When I joined, I had no previous experience to compare, but I can say with certainty that my entry was very positive, both professionally and humanly.

How did you experience the first few months? Were you supported by anyone?

From the very beginning I was supported by my coordinator, with whom I worked for more than two years. The support I received went far beyond the technical aspect: there was a strong focus on the person, individual aptitudes, and personal growth. I felt followed, understood and valued.

What is your role today?

Today I am part of the Business Intelligenceteam , and I am mainly involved in reporting, solutions on Azure, and data analysis. After my first long-term project, today I work on multiple projects, on different technical domains. This is allowing me to acquire new skills and consolidate those I have already learned.

Have you had a chance to grow professionally within Syscons?

Yes, a lot. My path has been gradual but continuous. Initially I was more side-by-side, but with time I learned to be autonomous, to think independently, to find solutions on my own. There is always constructive discussion with colleagues, but today I can handle more complex tasks with more confidence. Even technical skills, such as those related to Azure, I acquired directly in the company, putting into practice the theoretical foundations learned during the master's program.

How did your training take place concretely?

At first I had constant shadowing, day by day. Then, as I gained skills, I was given less and less detailed input, but I was able to carry it out independently. I learned how to reason, how to look for solutions, how to analyze problems. It is a type of training that happens in the field, but always with someone ready to support you if needed. There is a continuous exchange between colleagues, even on specific skills: we help each other, compare and grow together.

What is your team like in Rome? What is the climate like?

We work three days onsite and two days remotely, and it's a balance that works well. Rome is a complicated city to get around, so having a few days of smart working is essential, but being onsite is also important to maintain a sense of team. There is a lot of collaboration, we really help each other. Even outside of work there is a good atmosphere: we often all have lunch together, joining tables, creating a very family-like atmosphere.

How would you describe Syscons' corporate culture?

If I had to choose one word, it would be collaboration. I never perceived any dynamics of competition or rivalry. There is respect, trust and openness. People support each other, there is a desire to share knowledge, to work together to achieve common goals. I think this is something that sets Syscons apart from other companies.

What would you tell someone who is about to join Syscons?

To tell them to do it! Syscons is a company that invests in people, that allows you to grow in a stimulating and serene environment. If you have curiosity, motivation and like to learn, you will find your place here.
